What to expect on your wedding day
I love weddings! I’m passionate about documenting your wedding day and everything spectacular that happens within it.
I want to make sure that in fifty years time, you are transported back to the magic of your day when look at your wedding images.
I don’t photograph fake smiles; only genuine emotion. The real story of your day.
I’m relaxed. I won’t ask you to get 50 different sets of people together for endless group photographs.
I will spend the full day with you, from bridal preparations in the morning to your first dance (and a few crazy dances afterwards!).
Your wedding day will fly by so quickly, you will honestly not believe how fast time goes. Marty McFly style. So many moments and details are forgotten in the rush of getting ready and enjoying your day. That’s where I come in. You’ll see things in my photographs which you didn’t have time to fully appreciate; moments which you missed and wedding details that you will want to remember for a lifetime (you spent hours making those mason jars with lace).
I get to know you both before the big day. That’s why we’ll have a relaxed pre-wedding shoot. I don’t turn up to your wedding day without having met you both. You’ll know me.
On the day of your wedding I will arrive to meet the bride at her getting ready location. Every wedding is different, but normally I sit with the bride, members of the family and her maids, and take unobtrusive moments as they happen. The girls having fun. The dress being laced. The champagne being sipped (or swallowed down in one go). When requested my second shooter goes and joins the men too and hangs out while they attach cuff links, do bloke stuff and drink whiskey from their hip flasks!
My second shooter closely follows the mornings events, and greet the guests alongside the groom and his men – this way we can cover as much of your day as possible.
When the bride arrives, I’ll capture her entrance and then meet her up at the top of the altar with the groom, ready to photograph her walk up the aisle. We’ll then photograph your vows, signing of the register and your happy walk out of the ceremony. After all this comes one of my very favourite parts of the wedding… the confetti shot! Guests absolutely love this too, and the resulting photographs are absolutely brilliant.
1, 2, 3 confetti!
After the ceremony & your arrival at the venue guests will need a drink and to freshen up, they will also want to hug and congratulate you!
After your nerves have been calmed by a lovely glass of champers, and the guests are ready, we will take the wedding party photographs according to the plans and arrangements I made together with you before the wedding. Generally, each group shot can take anywhere between 3 and 5 minutes to set up – you will need a super organised groomsman or friend with a loud voice to offer their help. Getting the correct people together in the combinations we have decided upon can be deceptively time consuming! I like to get the group shots finished as quickly as possible so that you and everyone else can get back to enjoying the day!
It’s then time for us to take the bride and groom images. I will guide you through a number of poses around the venue, inside and outside whenever possible. Any special pose requests you have made will be taken at this time. This is a relaxed, romantic, and fun photo shoot, and the resulting photographs will bring both smiles and tears as you remember this amazing day.
Throughout the course of the day, we’ll take lots of photographs of your guests enjoying candid moments, the details and styling you have prepared for your wedding, the cake, your speeches, your cake cutting and your first dance.
I hope you really enjoyed scrolling through my wedding information guide. I think you can now probably sense now just how much your wedding means to me. I absolutely love to capture the emotion, the essence and the love you both feel on the day, surrounded by those you hold dearest. And now you hopefully have some idea of what to expect on your wedding day!
